Clinical Mental Health Student Intern
Hi! I’m Hannah Smith, a second-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and affirming environment where clients feel safe exploring their emotions and relationships. I believe therapy is most effective when built on genuine connection. While I bring curiosity and clinical training, I trust that clients are the experts in their own stories.
I work with children, teens, adults, and couples navigating a variety of challenges, including relationship dynamics, low self-worth, perfectionism, anxiety, OCD, and life transitions. My approach is integrative, drawing from multiple therapeutic theories. I value authenticity and aim to help clients cultivate self-compassion, insight, and meaningful growth in ways that feel aligned with who they are.
In addition to my counseling training, I am currently completing yoga teacher certification and enjoy incorporating mindfulness and body-based awareness into therapy when helpful.
As an intern, I maintain a smaller caseload, which allows me to focus deeply on each client’s experience and progress. I participate in weekly supervision with Chelsey Gorham at Innovative Family Therapy, along with supervision through my graduate program, to ensure ethical, thoughtful, and client-centered care.
I feel honored to support clients as they navigate challenges, discover strengths, and move toward greater emotional well-being. My hope is to walk alongside each person with care, curiosity, and an affirming presence.
